At a long, strenuous horse show, it’s easy to focus on our own ups and downs. After all, the sport of horse showing celebrates the love of the horse and a very personal bond we share.
So when the crew from Limelite Show Horses began walking around the grounds at the 2026 Pinto World Show on Sunday, bearing gifts for trainers, they made quite a splash – and earned a lot of gratitude.
“Be on the lookout for Trainer Medkits,” said the caption of their video, which showed snippets of them handing out the mystery gifts. “Trainer MedKits are packed with all the must haves to survive, thrive, and keep rolling through a long day at the World Show!”
Even though the fun, fresh, and different gesture (the creation of stallion owners Laurie Roden, Brian Henry, and John Zeldenthuis) gave them the opportunity to connect with others and promote their stallions MAKE MY DAYY & PANDEMIC, there was much more behind it.
“More than that, we want to show appreciation for the trainers who dedicate their lives to this industry,” explains John. “They’re on the road constantly, putting in long hours and pouring everything they have into these horses and exhibitors. We wanted to create something that lets them know they’re seen, valued, and appreciated—because without them, none of this would be possible!”
The team chose to launch their idea at Pinto World, followed by Paint World, says John, “because that’s where so many of our trainers, exhibitors, and horse families come together. Bringing it to a place where everyone gathers just made sense.”
The contents of the Trainer Medkits, which John reveals are practical and useful, are currently cloaked in secrecy by both recipients and the gift-givers because the team wants the excitement to continue at Paint World. “But just know that Trainers will be able to survive a few really hard lessons/ days at the show!!”
Of course, everyone at Tulsa Expo Square wanted to be part of the fun, so mare owners can also stop by the Limelite Show Horses stalls for Make My Dayy and Pandemic t-shirts – no trainer required. John adds, “We’ve got plenty of swag on hand, with even more exciting goodies coming your way. Stop by, say hello, we would love to talk with you all!”
Taking the idea of stallion swag and turning it into a gesture of pride and appreciation in our horse community? That’s more than fun and fresh – it’s something truly special. As Jane Goodall once said, “”You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
