Record-Breaking 2026 ABRA World Championship Show Raises the Bar

The American Buckskin Registry Association’s (ABRA) 2026 World Championship Show delivered one of the most successful events in the association’s history, bringing together exhibitors, owners, breeders, and families from across the country for 10 days of outstanding competition, exciting new opportunities, and unforgettable memories.
Held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the expanded World Championship Show reflected the continued growth of the association through increased participation, expanded competition, thriving youth programs, and a strong sense of community that continues to make ABRA one of the premier all-breed color horse associations in the industry.
Growth Continues Across the Board
The 2026 World Championship Show experienced significant growth across every major participation category compared to 2025.
Highlights included:
- 8% increase in horses entered
- 8% increase in exhibitors
- 4% increase in class entries
- 5% increase in stall reservations
The increased participation translated into strong competition throughout the show and reflected the continued momentum of ABRA’s premier event.
Outstanding Competition
Exhibitors competed in hundreds of World Championship classes across halter, performance, speed, ranch, color, and specialty events while earning World Championship titles, High Point saddles, championship buckles, and custom trophies.
ABRA continued offering National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) All-Breed approved classes while expanding competition with the addition of World Ranch Horse Association (WRHA)-approved Ranch Horse classes for the first time. The new partnership gave exhibitors the opportunity to earn five sets of WRHA points during the World Championship Show.
New competition opportunities were met with enthusiastic participation. The Ranch Horse Challenge attracted 24 entries, while the Pleasure Versatility Challenge welcomed 10 entries in its debut year. The NSBA All-Breed Yearling Long Line Futurity, featuring $1,000 Added Money, also drew 10 entries, providing another opportunity to showcase talented young horses.
From the first class to the final championship presentations, exhibitors demonstrated the quality, versatility, and athleticism that continue to define today’s American Buckskin Horse.
Investing in the Next Generation
Youth programs remained at the heart of the World Championship Show.
The Youth Judging Contest welcomed 15 teams, while 12 young exhibitors competed in Leadline classes. The Youth Benefit Auction raised $600 to support future ABRA youth programs.
ABRA also welcomed its 2026 Youth Ambassadors:
- Junior Ambassador: Ellie Fahler of Iowa
- Senior Ambassador: Savannah Petrosky of Texas
Beyond the arena, the Youth Lounge gave young exhibitors a place to relax, recharge, and build friendships throughout the week. The Wieghat Family hosted the Youth Ice Cream Social, Scavenger Hunt featuring more than 25 hidden trophies, 50/50 raffle, and handcrafted saddle raffle, creating additional opportunities for fun while raising funds to support future youth programs.
More Than a Horse Show
While championship competition remained the centerpiece of the event, the World Championship Show also celebrated the friendships and traditions that make ABRA unique.
The week began with the Welcome Party before moving into a full schedule of competition, Honor Roll Awards, and Lifetime Achievement Awards recognizing Gena Loper and Hotroddin Dundee for their outstanding contributions to the association.
Daily Buckskin Trivia kept exhibitors engaged throughout the week, while the Adult Wine Class, sponsored by Fruitland Valley Vineyard and DunsNRoses Ranch, once again proved to be a crowd favorite.
Families gathered for the Dog Showmanship Class sponsored by Show Off Designs, and young exhibitors cooled off during the Water Gun Fight and Watermelon Feed sponsored by Woolsey Training Stables.
The World Championship Show also reached beyond the show grounds through Walton Webcasting, allowing family, friends, and Buckskin enthusiasts from around the world to watch the competition live. Throughout the event, Ryan Geiger Photography captured championship moments in and out of the arena, giving exhibitors professional photos and lasting memories of their World Championship experience. The official 2026 World Championship Show Souvenir Program was also available in both print and digital formats, providing exhibitors and spectators with a lasting keepsake of one of ABRA’s most successful World Championship Shows.
One of the week’s most memorable moments came when a surprise marriage proposal took place during the World Championship Show, reminding everyone that some of life’s greatest memories are made far beyond the winner’s circle.

The success of the 2026 ABRA World Championship Show was made possible through the generous support of sponsors and industry partners whose contributions helped enhance the competition, awards, special events, and overall exhibitor experience.
ABRA extends its sincere appreciation to Gold Award Sponsor Char-Lin Ranch – Linda Cline; Silver Award and Multiple Class Sponsor Theresa Woolley / TW Show Horses; and Silver Award Sponsor Faith Show Horses.
Supporting World Show Sponsors included B Show Horses, Wellmann Farms, and Tom Williams Show Horses. Wellmann Farms also supported the Ranch Horse Challenge.
Additional award and class support came from JC Horsemanship, an Award and Class Sponsor; Favored By All, an Award Sponsor; Allen Farm – Frankie and Allysa Allen and Emily Allen Ediger, Class Sponsors; and Janelle Ward Performance Horses, a Class Sponsor.
Generous donor sponsors also helped make the World Show experience even more memorable by providing giveaways and prizes throughout the event. Donor sponsors included Head To Tail Boutique, Platinum Performance, Mad Barn, US Rider, 100X Equine, and Mrs. Pastures Cookies for Horses.
Their support helped ABRA recognize exhibitors, enhance special events, provide additional prizes and giveaways, and create an exceptional World Championship Show experience for competitors and families throughout the 10-day event.
Looking Ahead
The record-breaking success of the 2026 ABRA World Championship Show reflects the dedication of exhibitors, owners, breeders, volunteers, judges, sponsors, charter clubs, and members who continue to make the event one of the premier championships for Buckskin, Dun, Red Dun, Grulla, Dunalino, and Perlino horses.
As ABRA looks toward the future, the continued growth of the World Championship Show demonstrates the strength of the Buckskin horse community and the association’s commitment to expanding opportunities, investing in youth, and preserving the horses that have made the American Buckskin Registry Association a leader in the equine industry.
