Domenick Hiebing and Mr. Sudden Pleasure Are Unanimous in AjPHA Novice Youth 13 and Under Trail

A very confident and composed Domenick Hiebing loped his seven-year-old gelding named “Woody” up to claim his awards in the Novice Youth 13 and Under Trail this morning at the 2014 AjPHA Youth World Show. Hiebing piloted Mr. Sudden Pleasure to a unanimous win in the class.
Coming in Reserve was Talyn Smith with Sensational Me. Third place was Samantha Stubblefield with I’m Zipped All Right.
This is Hiebing’s second World Championship title of the show. He and Classy With Curves claimed the top spot in Youth 2-Year-Old Mares. Although Hiebing has a prior World title in the walk-trot division, today’s win is his first title earned in a 13 and under division. Later on in the show, Hiebing will return with Woody for the 13 and under Trail, Novice Youth 13 and under Horsemanship, and Novice Youth 13 and under Western Pleasure.

Hiebing thoroughly enjoyed Robert Dehn’s design for the trail course today describing it as simple but fun.
“I liked it,” he says. “I really liked the lope-overs, because Woody is very slow and controlled over the lope-overs. [My trainer] Becky [George] told me to remember to keep my eyes in the dirt and find my spots.”
Hiebing is a relative newcomer to the 13 and under division. His first show loping with Woody was the Paint Horse Congress last year. He may still be novice, but this talented, young equestrian shows wisdom beyond his years and confidence for days. When asked if he ever imagined he could be named a unanimous World Champion, he had this to say.
“I knew right after,” he says. “When I was done, I knew my pattern was pretty much perfect.”
“Woody is a very fun horse. He can be a little obnoxious sometimes, but that’s just part of it. The really good horses can get that way sometimes.”
Domenick gives Woody a well-deserved pat.
Later this year, Hiebing with show Certain To Cruise at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in the 11 and under Horsemanship and Western Pleasure. While he’s still here in Fort Worth, he plans to take everyone out for a celebratory dinner.
“I really like The Silver Fox and Macaroni Grill,” he says.
