“He’s our first English-bred horse. All our others are from Western-bred mares. He’s by our stallion, Hubba Hubba Huntin, and out of These Irons Are Dancing.”

It is literally freezing here in Columbus at the 2017 All American Quarter Horse Congress, but things were HOT in the Select Hunter Under Saddle as Laurel Champlin rode Look N Hott to win what she describes as the Triple Crown of titles.

“It’s an exhilarating feeling, no matter how many years it’s been or how many titles you have. It’s always a great thing to have, especially when you have a great ride with a great horse and are rewarded for it.”

“A year ago today, I was in a hospital bed, one day after surgery for colon cancer. This is very surreal to be here showing a year later. I’m healthy now, so this is so special.”

“It was nerve-wracking!” she says. “I wasn’t going to count my chickens before they hatched, but she was so good today.”

Mrs. Kathy Tobin and her 13-year-old gelding “Roany” were third to go in the working order this morning in Select Trail at the 2017 All American Quarter Horse Congress. They scored a whopping 234 to stay at the top of the leaderboard outlasting 70 other entries to be named the Congress Champion.

“He got sick, and we had to leave the class. He spent about a week at The University of Ohio. We didn’t even know if he was going to make it.”
