A portion of the 1,100 mile, historic trail is ridden each year, with the entire sequence taking thirteen years to complete. Its route traces, as closely as possible, the route Chief Joseph and the NezPerce took while attempting to escape the US Cavalry in 1877. This year’s segment is the only “loop ride”during the thirteen years.

“With an 81 percent increase in entries for the Zoetis VRH World and 12 percent increase in entries for the Zoetis RHC Finals, AQHA staff felt it was necessary to ensure the show schedule was suitable for both exhibitors and horses. Plus, we’ve doubled AQHA Cattle Level 1 entries and have 750 entries competing in the NRSHA National Championship Show.”

When Ford Youth World exhibitors ride in the Level 3 reining prelims, they will be riding for their spot in the class’ finals, but also for a gold medal in the team competition. The concept of individual and team competition at the Ford Youth World mimics the style of an FEI-level reining event.

The Georgia Bulldogs swept the hunt seat awards with Addyson Cord receiving the NCEA Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Year and Maddy Darst claiming the NCEA Equitation over Fences Rider of the Year award. For the Western discipline, SMU’s Holly Lansidel was named the NCEA Reining Rider of the Year. Laska Anderson of Texas Christian University was tagged as the NCEA Horsemanship Rider of the Year.
