Steve Reams and The Dark Impulse Win Equine Chronicle SOQHA Madness 3 and Over Novice Western Pleasure

We are excited to announce the winner of The Equine Chronicle 3 and Over Novice Horse Western Pleasure that was crowned at the SOQHA Madness in Wilmington, Ohio! Just moments ago, Steve Reams rode The Dark Impulse to win the class and a big check for $15,000 as well as the $2,000 Harris Leather and Silverworks Bonus for new owner, Joanie Zelnio.

Just a few weeks ago, Reams rode Joy, a 4-year-old mare by RL Best of Sudden and out of Dark Jasmine, to win the Hylton Maiden Western Pleasure, after which she was purchased by Zelnio. Click here to read more.

The Reserve Champion and Limited Champion was Chase Barnes with Strutinwithmybootson for Dennis and Kare Reifsnyder, winning $7,500. Third was Andy Cochran with I Know Whats Best for Capital Quarter Horses, winning $5,000. Fourth place was Jay Starnes with Million To 1, winning $3,500 for Nettie Olsen. Fifth was Rusty Green with Florida Georgia Line for Ruth Marie Rowe, winning $3,000.

Tying for sixth was Jacob Hartman with Ima Blazing Hot Chip, winning $2,250 for Tanya Hartman. This team was also the Limited Reserve Champion. Also sixth was Randy Wilson with Keeping Vitals Good, winning $2,250 for Whitney Wilson.

Eighth was Angie Rigdon Cannizzaro with The Production Line, winning $1,500 for Mary Jo and Dwain Gold. Tying for ninth was Kenny Lakins with Bettin The Goods for Mr. and Mrs. William Wilkes and Karen Hornick with Best Az Yet for Annette Snowden.

Eleventh was Wade Black with Slow Ya Roll for Cheryl Mullikin. Twelfth was Cody Parrish with Made My Way for Barbara Clifford. Tying for thirteenth was Jason English with Made To Slay for Cameron Crenwelge and Nick Mayabb with Best But Better for Steve and Cindy Durham. Fifteenth was Dawn Baker with Heza Good Venture for Beth Hartman. Sixteenth was Jamie Zuidema with Gettin My Sundis On for John Zuidema. This was also the Intermediate Champion team. Seventeenth was Brian Baker with The Best Ryde for Big Rock Farms, LLC.
