The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) will host its 55th Annual Chief Joseph Trail Ride, July 22 – 26, 2019. The full route requires thirteen years to complete. This year, the third 100-mile leg will be ridden of the 1,300-mile historic trail, beginning in Grangeville, ID and finishing at Musselshell Meadows (near Pierce, ID). 

The Breeders’ Championship Futurity Yearling Sale annually pays over $100,000 back to horses sold during the NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders’ Championship Futurity. The sale preview will take place August 15th, 2019, and the sale will take place August 16th, both in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

The EMO Western States Championship and Celebration is scheduled for June 27-July 7, 2019 at South Point in Las Vegas, NV.

Top-seeded Auburn knocked off TCU (12-4) in the quarterfinals and Oklahoma State (11-5) in the semifinals. While the overall outcome was easily decided, the Tigers did get an early wakeup call, dropping Horsemanship, 3-1, against TCU to start the day. Auburn got a bye in the Horsemanship event bracket on Wednesday.

Modify SHW240.4 the term of the lease must be for a minimum one year period, and the lease must be to an individual only. If the lease is terminated for any reason other than the death of the lessee before the minimum one year period, the following penalties/restrictions shall apply except as provided by the International Lease for World Championship Show rules: SHW240.4.1 unless the lessor pays a $1,000 early termination penalty (“Termination Penalty”), the horse can only be shown in the Open Division, Level 1 classes and/or Rookie classes until one year has passed since the original start date of the lease;

Modifications to registration-related items were approved by AQHA members and the AQHA Board of Directors at the 2019 AQHA Convention, March 8-11 in Fort Worth, Texas. Per the Association’s bylaws, the board of directors has the final authority when it comes to AQHA’s bylaws and rules of registration. Rule-change recommendations from all of the other standing committees were reviewed and approved by the board of directors. Those recommendations go to the AQHA Executive Committee for review, modification and/or approval at its April meeting.

Established in 1997 in honor of the late AQHA Honorary Vice President Merle Wood, this award is designed to recognize an individual who exemplifies an ethic of meritorious kindness and benevolence in providing opportunities for all young people to be involved with the American Quarter Horse.

The new platform will also contain videos explaining the NCEA scoring systems as well as discussion of the differences between competing at breed shows and NCEA competitions. It’s a must-have for exhibitors wanting to compete in NCEA events as well as for those wanting to judge NCEA events.
