The AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Council is hosting an online auction to raise money for the Guy Stoops Professional Horsemen’s Scholarship Fund during the 2019 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show.

Then, for the AEP (only) shows, we will keep your points, similar to a state year-end program. We will award, at the end of the show period, year-end high points in the following divisions: Open Jr, Open Sr, L1 Amateur, Amateur, Select, L1 Youth, 13 & under, 14-18 & Small Fry. (If a particular show has classes leveled, L2 & L3, both levels will count towards that division.) In the non-pro divisions, points will count as a horse/rider combination.

APHA is accepting national director nominations from regional clubs and individuals through August 15—any APHA member in good standing can be nominated as a national director. If elected, national directors serve a three-year term (2020–2022) and are asked to vote on rule change proposals and other matters of importance to the association in the best interest of their representative area.

Olivia Tordoff of Powell, Ohio, the 2018-19 president, received a $2,000 scholarship. Tordoff will be a student at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama this fall.

In 2019, to be eligible to compete in any Paint Horse Championship halter class in any division, an exhibitor cannot have placed in the Top Five in a halter class at an APHA World Championship Show within the last 10 years (2009–2018) or won a Paint Horse Championship halter class the previous year.

Other events include a church service at 9 a.m. on August 4, followed by The Paws Cause, a dog adoption event at 11 a.m. Both will be held in the Sales Pavilion (Barn 3). Ford Youth World attendees have the opportunity to visit with colleges and universities at the college fair 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 6 and 7 in Section 300 in the Jim Norick Arena.

Scarlet Print was a 1990 chestnut overo mare by Silent Print and out of Oakes Shady Lady who earned 1,334 lifetime APHA points in halter classes. Owned by Michelle Engle of Bakersfield, California, Scarlet Print had an impressive accolade of awards, including four Registers of Merit, three Superiors Events and 10 world championship titles—all in halter classes. She was a dam to nine horses that have collected a total of 746 points in halter classes.

The Fox Lea Farm Winter Quarter Horse Circuit and NSBA Fun In The Sun will take place January 6-12, 2020 in Venice, Florida. With six judges and six sets of points up for grabs, it’s sure to be a don’t-miss event. There will also be amazing parties and great awards making for a memorable show-cation.
