The year end can be pivotal for many exhibitors who are tracking their breed association points, and in 2022, AQHA exhibitors earned their final year end points in Tampa, Florida, at the Florida Gold Coast Show, while APHA exhibitors raced for their year end totals in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the APHC Copper Country POR.

Three APHA Youth who finished their year in Scottsdale were official winners of the APHA Top Twenty Youth!

Congratulations to Emma Goffard and Candy Confidential for their Youth 14-18 Top Twenty win under the guidance of Gillespie Show Horses. Their mega-score total at year end was a whopping 446.5 points!

“Blessed is truly an understatement for all of the opportunities and achievements this year has blessed me with. Take it from me, you are truly your own worst enemy, so always remember that you are capable of achieving anything, even what is considered the “impossible”,” says Emma.

Peytyn Goodin and Even More Sensational won the 13 & Under Top Twenty spot under the guidance of Elite Show Horses. Peytyn says, “It is an incredible feeling to finish number one in the 13 & Under. My horse, Even More Sensational “Dillon,” and I only started showing together in October and only went to three shows – I never imagined we could end up doing well enough to be number one. My trainer, James Saubolle, just wanted me to show him these last three shows to gain experience with him for 2023 since I moved up to 14-18 this year. I could not be more excited to see what we can accomplish this year!”

Reese Byers with Ill B At The Bar

Reese Byers and Ill B At The Bar won the Novice Youth top billing for the APHA Top 20 also with the guidance of Gillespie Show Horses, and Reese was thrilled.  “It has always been my dream to be Number One Novice Youth. When I started this past year with Troy, I was hoping to have some good rides and get to know him better. But when I was told that I was in the running for number one, I was shocked! Troy was a perfect angel all year, and my trainers Tim and Shannon Gillespie helped me to push myself to do things I never thought were possible! I am so thankful for this opportunity and for my entire horse show family for always being there for me.”

Congratulations to all the Top 20 winners who fulfilled their dreams at the end of the year!
