National Snaffle Bit Association is pleased to welcome Taft Dickerson, of Mount Airy, North Carolina, into its prestigious Quarter Million Dollar Club. Taft reached the milestone of more than $250,000 in lifetime NSBA earnings at the Tar Heel Classic.
Taft was born into the horse industry. His father, Donnie Dickerson, is a professional trainer and leading AQHA and NSBA horseman, while his mother, Millie Dickerson, is a leading NSBA non pro exhibitor. Taft grew up showing his parents’ Western Pleasure prospects at AQHA events all along the East Coast and he won his first major event at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Novice Youth Western Pleasure in 1999. He later joined his father in training horses on the family’s 40-acre facility and currently operates Taft Dickerson Show Horses, where he specializes in AQHA and NSBA Western Pleasure futurity horses and coaching non pro clients.
On his way to the quarter million dollar milestone, Taft made his mark at several major futurities including the Reichert Celebration, back-to-back wins in the Hylton Maiden and the Spring Breakout, as well as the All American Quarter Horse Congress and the NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders Championship Futurity. He has shown notable horses including What We Do Best, OK Ima Cowboy, Made By J, Extremely Hot Diva, Made N The Shade, Come N Get Ya Some, Scandal Maker, Gone Commando, Pick Up Man, and Bottle Service.
Taft and his partner, Katie Marie, welcomed their son, Kole Harris Dickerson, in May.
Taft will be recognized during the NSBA Honors Banquet during the 2025 NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders Championship Futurity in Tulsa, Oklahoma in August.
