APHA Gelding Iron Chef, owned by Michelle and Sheila Bauer, was laid to rest March 22, 2023.

He was the 2007 Reichert Color Champion, 2011 APHA Reserve World Champion Senior Western Pleasure, 2011 APHA Reserve World Champion Amateur Western Pleasure, and earner of 466 APHA Western Pleasure points and 103 APHA Hunter Under Saddle points.

“Today we had to say goodbye to one of the best we have ever had, Iron Chef. We were lucky to have you for 14 of your 18 years,” says Sonnesa Gooding.

She explains that the great Iron Chef has been a part of the Bauer & Gooding family since he was three years old, and he was also one of the most special horses all at Bauer and Gooding Show Horses had the privilege to swing a leg over.

“We are forever grateful to the East family for selling us Chef and to Mike Hachtel for all his work putting the amazing foundation he did on him, and of course, for starting his career off with multiple big wins,” Sonnesa says.  “All your pain is over, buddy. We love you!”

Our deepest condolences to the Bauer Family, the Gooding Family, the East Family, Mike Hachtel, and all who were touched by the life of “Cheffy.”
