Sincerest Condolences Following Passing of “Congress Gate Man” John Ackerman

Our sincerest condolences go out to Brenda Ackerman and the many friends of John Ackerman following his passing from a recent heart attack. John was known to most as the friendliest face at the Congress out gate.

The majority of our photos from the Congress have John in them, because he was always ready with a high five or a handshake for exhibitors- whether they were champions or finalists.

We will miss John terribly, as will many others in the industry. His loving wife said it best in a recent social media post. “I’m sure he’s already asking them for a gate job, telling them how he worked the Quarter Horse Congress.”
