ShowMe July 2022 Summer ShoStopper – A Show Like No Other!

Filed under: Club & Show News,Club and Show News |

There are horse shows with lots of fun, and then there are horse shows planned just for the fun.

ShowMe Horse Shows in Michigan is an open, all-breed circuit built around doing things differently, and

24 exhibitors face the rail while awaiting their turn for the Blind Showmanship Sweepstakes.

just for fun.  “All three of our shows have a different theme and outside-the-box classes,” says Liz Gear, who owns and operates ShoMe Horse Shows with her husband, Kurtis Gear. “Our theme or tagline for the Summer ShoStopper is ‘A Show Like No Other.’”

Jeanne Hugo, Blind Showmanship Sweepstakes Winner

Case in point: one of the most popular classes is deemed, “The Blind Showmanship Sweepstakes,” in which the exhibitors face the rail, the pattern is set, the exhibitor is handed the pattern and given 45 seconds to memorize it – then they perform! They are not allowed to watch the other competitors perform their patterns, which just adds to the fun! 24 exhibitors tackled the pattern, with congrats to Jeanne Hugo, who took home over $100 in winnings.

The Blind Horsemanship Sweepstakes, another popular class, saw 14 competitors, and Amber Daniel borrowed “Nick,” a reiner belonging to her friend, Taylor Fabus, to earn a respectable 4th place.  “He’s never done the horsemanship and I’ve never ridden a reiner, so why not!?  Such a fun group to hang out with and such a fun class idea,” Amber says.
