KRT is a designation that has quickly become synonymous with a certain style, spectacular horses, and a sense of fun. The initials belong to Kent Ray Taylor, an industry veteran, talented non-pro competitor, and horse owner with a penchant for gray mares.

Currently in his show string are three mares that each hold a special place in his heart: Snap It Send It, Snippity Snap, and Not Dun Lopin. The 5-year-old gray mare, Snap It Send It, is best known as the 2019 AQHA Versatility Champion, 2020 NSBA Horse of the Year, AQHA Junior Horse of the Year, and multiple World and Congress Champion. Kent Ray purchased “Bailee” as a three-year-old upon the direction of his trainer, Blake Weis, and has never looked back. Currently, the pair competes in Select Horsemanship, Showmanship, and Western Pleasure. Blake campaigns Bailee in Western Riding and Trail, and Kent Ray is excited to start those disciplines in the coming year.

“I think her best class is honestly Western Riding,” Kent Ray says. “She’s absolutely exquisite. She’s also a beautiful Trail horse. She’s a very kind mare, and she’s super easy to prepare and show. She’s truly one-of-a-kind.”

Next year will bring about a new chapter in Bailee’s journey, as she will become a mother. It’s a milestone that Kent Ray is eagerly looking forward to achieving. “This year, in December, we will use the ICSI method to pull five embryos, and Bailee will be a surrogate mother! We have sold four, and I have retained one for myself.

“She’s as kind and sweet as a gelding, even when she’s in season, so if she can pass that on to her babies, that would be amazing.”
