Horses dance between heaven and earth, connecting us to both with every graceful stride.” ~Unknown.

A horse whose movement transcends the ordinary will always remain the objective of horse lovers everywhere. The grace, flow, and beauty of the Hunter Under Saddle horse is no exception, and a horse like Speakeasyy, a 2022 AQHA gelding by One Hot Krymsun and out of She Gets The Blues, deftly commands attention in the arena with his ground-covering strides.

The charisma and presence of Speakeasyy immediately captured the attention of Amanda Smith of Naples, Florida. She began her riding career in the irons in the hunter world at the young age of six, and though she took some time off in her early twenties, when her husband, Tim, convinced her to immerse herself in the horse world again, she fell in love with Quarter Horses.

It was no surprise, then, that “Trace,” a magnificent, big, black, personable Quarter Horse, caught her eye. “When I first saw him in his stall, he approached me, and I think he chose me!” she says. His overall eye-appeal was what cinched the deal, however, especially for an amateur who prioritizes appearance for the show pen. “Though I have my favorite bloodlines, the overall look matters most,” Smith explains. “He has a big, pretty trot and is very eye-catching. He fits the criteria of what I typically seek for appearances in the show pen.” .
