Nicole Salzer and Company Man Are Co-Champions in 3-Year-Old NP HUS at TP Christmas Challenge

We recently received word that the 3-Year-Old Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle class at the Tom Powers Christmas Challenge resulted in a tie! We already had the opportunity to speak with one of the champions- Allie Littlefield with All Time Vandal. Therefore, congratulations is now in order for the other newly crowned co-champion- Nicole Salzer with Company Man.

“Fantastic Felix” is a 3-year-old gelding by Im The Only One and out of Company Time, who is a full sister to All Rise. Nicole and Felix have been a team for a year and a half now. Ever since this duo joined forces, they have competed under the guidance of Scott Suggs. “He has helped me with actually showing when I’m in the pen and the overall presentation of my horse. He has helped me know how to place my horse in the pen for him to be seen by the judges. I think that allows me to really decide where I want Felix to be every step of the class when I’m showing.”

Nicole was extremely pleased with Felix’s performance at the show. “There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about my ride,” she says. “However, I feel like the best parts of my ride were Felix’s happy expression and consistency during the whole class. Overall, I think that really gave him a presence in the show pen. Felix always rises above how he warms up, and he really shows that he loves it!”

This was the pair’s first trip to the Tom Powers Futurity. For most of 2020, they focused on 3-year-old futurity classes and started training for Pleasure Driving. “I would love to get him more seasoned in the cart and get a lead change on him for the Equitation and Over Fences when the time is right.”
