“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” ― Lucius Annaeus Seneca.

When trainer Sara Simons picked out Gimme Ur Best Stuff at the Voge’s NSBA sale preview as a prospect for her sister, Jana Simons, they thought the gelding by RL Best Of Sudden and out of  This Version Glows, bred by the Kari Jewell, would make a suitable all around horse for both long-legged, athletic, and talented siblings.

The sale graduate did that, and then some, earning money as a sale graduate when he was three, followed by excelling in the highest level of all around classes from showmanship to hunter under saddle to trail, and fulfilling Jana’s dreams of winning a Gold Globe at the AQHA World Show in L3 Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation. “I never would have thought that was possible on a green horse,” explains Jana. “It’s pretty remarkable, and it says a lot about him.”

But Jana’s and Sara’s primary goal has always been to give good all around horses the right start and help them be successful for someone else in the future, so in this case, “Puff” has a new owner as of December 2025: decorated youth exhibitor Izzy Hostetler.

“That’s the best part – getting a chance to stand in her win picture someday,” explains Jana.  “I could not have picked a better kid for him; she looks great on him, and the Hostetlers are literally the sweetest family.”

For Izzy, looking ahead to the future with Puff is a dream come true. “I’ve always watched Puff and Jana in the show pen and have truly adored them both,” she reveals. “The first time I rode Puff, I fell even more in love with him. He has been so understanding and has already been such a great teacher for me. I’ve definitely been a huge fan of Puff long before this, so being able to finally call him my own is incredibly special.”

She’s also already enjoying Puff’s work ethic, and personality. “He truly tries so hard for you, and I really appreciate that. He’s been so honest and allowed me to make mistakes and learn while adjusting to a new horse. On top of that, he also has the goofiest personality, especially when he gets bored, and I think it’s so funny!”

Since she only has a few years left in her youth career before riding with Auburn University’s Equestrian Team, Izzy says she believes she’s found the perfect partner. “I genuinely believe that Puff is the horse who will help me make the most of the time I have left, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.”

What’s ahead for Izzy, while Jana focuses on bringing along the next great all around prospect, includes Youth 14-18 AQHA All Around events. “I’ve never shown Quarter Horses before, so I’m extremely excited to begin this new journey with Puff and see where it takes us,” Izzy says. “Previously, I showed Paint Horses and have since retired my show mare, Platinum Cowgirl, who is now enjoying life as my practice horse at home!”

In a season of gratitude, Izzy explains there are countless people to thank, but her list starts with her entire family, including her parents and grandparents, who she says have always been her biggest supporters.

“I would also like to thank Jana Simons for allowing me the opportunity to own such a special horse. And last but not least, thank you to Sara Simons and everyone at Simons Show Horses for welcoming me into their barn family and giving me the opportunity to continue growing as a rider.”
