IQHYA Cloverdale Show Taps Out at 7,660+ Entries!

According to final tabulations from Mark Harrell Horse Shows, the Indiana Quarter Horse Youth Association Show tapped out over the weekend in Cloverdale at a whopping 7,660 entries across all divisions! The IQHYA Show was the first in a set of back to back weekends providing AQHA competitors with 12 total shows.

Contrary to the name, this event wasn’t solely about youth competitors. If the first weekend was any indication, open, amateur, and L1 classes will stay strong through The International this weekend, April 27-30.

  • Amateur Showmanship- 32 (Champion- Jessica Baird with Cool Movin Lady)
  • L1 Trail- 31 (Champion- Nick Mayabb with She’s Willy Awesome)
  • Amateur Horsemanship- 28 (Champion- Katie Grossnickle with Always Lopin Sober)
  • 14-18 Showmanship- 27 (Champion- Ellexxah Maxwell with Zips Bossy Chip)
  • L1 Amateur Showmanship- 27 (Champion- Danielle Neisendorf with Boot Scootin Boogee)
  • Senior Trail- 26 (Champion- Brent Maxwell with Always Lopin Sober)
  • L1 Amateur Horsemanship- 25 (Champion- Jackie Bauer with Amazin Dream)
  • Youth Trail- 24 (Champion- Emma Brown with Some Hot Potential)
  • 14-18 Horsemanship- 24 (Champion- Ellexxah Maxwell with Zips Bossy Chip)
  • L1 Youth Showmanship- 22 (Champion- Danielle McDermott with Slip Off To Sleep)
  • Junior Trail- 21 (Champion- Jennifer Pau with Cruize)
  • Select Showmanship- 20 (Champion- Mary Papp with Krymsun On Impulse)
  • Select Horsemanship- 19 (Champion- Dan Riegle with Mcrange)

The International will kick off on April 27th with Trail, Horsemanship, and Western Pleasure classes. Judges will be Mark Russell, Dean Bogart, Shawn Hays, Gayle Lampinen, Amy Watkins, and Tyler Crouse.

FFEB917C-The Equine Chronicle is proud to be the High Point sponsor of the show and will be providing full page ads to the winners of the Open, Amateur, Select, L1 Amateur, L1 Youth, 13 & under, and 14-18 Youth divisions. Competitors must compete in their respective High Point classes to qualify for High Point. Special High Point awards will be presented to Small Fry, L1 Amateur, L1 Youth Walk/Jog, Rookie Youth, and Rookie Amateur divisions.
