Our deepest condolences to the the Rasmussen Family, the Clennan Family, the Camp Family, the Prince Family, the Simons Show Horses barn family, and all whose lives were touched by Radicalized.

Mara with Rodney

The 2004 APHA Bay Overo gelding who passed away this week was by Radical Rodder and out of Zippos Dun One (By Zippos Sensation).  A multiple World Champion, Rodney was well known for his amazing APHA show record in Open, Amateur, Youth and Novice Youth divisions.

His fame as a World Champion and point-earning horse, first as a stallion and later as a gelding, was prominent in the APHA show industry.  When he was a stallion, he sired many other champions, such as Optimized, Miss Mesmerized, and Glamourized.

Mara Clennan, who showed him with much success in Youth and Novice Youth, says, “Rodney impacted the lives of so many people. Personally, he made me the rider I am. Rod’s personality and particularity pushed me to grow and taught me perseverance, and I paid him for his time in stud muffins of course. He guided me to the winners circle and together we accomplished so much. As a team we won four world champions and four reserves in 3 years.”

“I know Rod is up in Heaven enjoying his unlimited stud muffins, sticking his tongue out, and watching all the peoples’ lives he changed. RIP Radicalized – I love you always bugga,” says Mara.

Mary Camp and Marguerite Camp also showed Rodney, earning many titles, including World Show Reserve and World Championships as Youth and Novice Youth.  Mary Camp has this to say, “Radicalized. Overwhelmed with gratefulness that I got to call him mine, while also filled with sadness that he is gone. Rodney pushed the boundaries at all times (even if it was defiantly), turning me into a rider I never thought I could be. My angel, teacher, confidante, and partner. My biggest battles and my greatest accomplishments can be credited to him. Thanks for making my dreams come true Rod – hope you’re getting all the treats in heaven.”

We’ve gathered some photos from Mara Clennan, Mary Catherine Camp, and our coverage of Rodney’s shows over the years in our photo gallery below (Pro photos are by Kirstie Marie Photography):
