The American Quarter Horse Association is excited to continue the Halter Bonanza at the 2020 Farnam AQHA World Championship Show slated for November 2-21 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. This year’s show, which will be held in accordance with local, state and federal mandates, is proud to offer $151,000 in additional prize money to the amateur and open halter divisions, thanks to the generosity of some special sponsors.

“In 2018, the concept of the Halter Bonanza was created when 10-year cumulative breeders Steve and Kathy Headley of Bloomington, Indiana, donated $150,000; 30-year cumulative breeder Linda Gordon of Argyle, Texas, donated $150,000; and 30-year cumulative breeders Terry and Tammy Bradshaw of Thackerville, Oklahoma, donated $153,000 to the program to recognize and reward excellence in the halter horse industry,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “In total, they have generously donated $453,000 to be awarded over three years, and we are thrilled to offer $151,000 of the added money at this year’s Farnam AQHA World.”

At the 2020 Farnam AQHA World, $151,000 in additional prize money will be added to the halter class purses. A total of $76,000 will be paid to the amateur halter division and $75,000 to the open division. As part of the 2020 Halter Bonanza, $5,000 will also be awarded to the high-point Adequan® Level 2 open halter exhibitor, as well as the high-point halter amateur from the AQHA Level 2 Championships, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan).

Don’t miss your chance to enter the 2020 Farnam AQHA World! The entry deadline of October 15 is fast approaching. Late entries will be accepted, with a fee, from October 16 to November 1.
