Exciting News from the BHF Board of Directors

The BHF Board of Directors has some very exciting news!!!
June Rhea has purchased Raylan Givens and his BHF Slot from Jeff and Joy Stehney. Joy Stehney will remain on the BHF Board of Directors in an advisory position.
Vicki Livasy has purchased a slot from the BHF Board of Directors. Vicki’s new stallion, JLR Loves Legacy, will be in the BHF Amateur and Open and Color Amateur and Open. We are super excited to add Vicki to our BHF Family.
Beginning in September 2027, we will offer classes for Amateur and Open 3-Year-Old Geldings and Mares.
We will be offering a “Catch-Up” program for previously nominated horses that have missed a nomination. The fee will be $200 for every year you missed a nomination and then pay the current year nomination. Please remember the horse must have been nominated as a weanling. We will offer two new classes at the 2027 Breeders Halter Futurity for 6 Panel Negative Weanling Foals:
-Weanling Colts and Geldings
-Weanling Fillies
These foals must be sired by a currently participating BHF Stallion in any division of the BHF. The total payout will be $110,000 with $55,000 for Weanling Colts and Geldings and $55,000 for Weanling Fillies. Registration papers must provide the 6 Panel Negative information. HYPP: N/N, PSSM1: N/N, GBED: N/N, HERDA: N/N, MYHM: N/N; MH: N/N. If the breed registry does not show 6 Panel DNA Results, it is acceptable to provide 6 Panel Testing from UC-Davis for the 6 items listed above.
Reminder: Mare Power Enrollments are due December 1, 2026, for $350. If you enroll 4 mares, the 5th mare is free. Late enrollments from December 2 – 31, 2026 for $700. NO MARE POWER ENROLLMENTS AFTER DECEMBER 31, 2026. THIS IS A VERY STRICT DEADLINE.
