The American Quarter Horse Association is pleased to introduce its Medication Guideline Database, a new online resource designed to provide members with a simpler, more convenient way to search medication classifications and dosing guidelines outlined in the 2026 AQHA Official Handbook of Rules and Regulations and the 2026 Medication Guidelines.
The database brings information from these two resources into one searchable tool, making it easier for exhibitors, owners and trainers to navigate medication guidelines as they prepare for competition and care for their American Quarter Horses.
The Medication Guideline Database supplements AQHA’s official resources. It does not include every drug or medication that may be administered to a horse or every applicable rule or guideline. Members should use the database alongside the official handbook, including rules VIO300 through VIO407, and the medication guidelines to review AQHA’s medication policies and requirements.
Members can access the database through the show department’s exhibitor resources page and AQHA’s animal welfare webpage. For questions about medication use and guidelines, contact the medication hotline at 1-(800)-633-2472. Questions about the database may be directed to animalwelfare@aqha.org.
AQHA remains committed to providing members with resources that support informed decision-making, responsible horse care and compliance with Association rules and regulations.
