Nestled in the Texas Hill Country along meandering West Sister Creek, Corrival Ranch is an equine paradise just thirty minutes from the bustle of downtown San Antonio. Set on 57 bucolic acres, the ranch offers world class amenities and services including boarding and training, breeding and sales and an equine conditioning, therapy, and rehabilitation center–including a state-of-the-art surgery suite–featuring comprehensive care and the latest in technology.

Co-owners Ben and Julie Wolff have a proven track record of success in the private sector, and they have combined that experience in the business world with their lifelong passion for the American Quarter Horse, partnering with Corrival co-owner Susie Phillips whose lifetime of experience in all aspects of the equestrian industry is the perfect complement to the Wolff’s business acumen.

Ben says, “All three of us have a long history with Quarter Horses. Julie and I rode as kids and we always wanted to have a Quarter Horse breeding program, but with our careers in the technology, telecom, and legal fields, we didn’t really have time for that until we retired from those careers. Susie has had a continuous run with Quarter Horses her whole life. I rode Quarter Horses growing up working cattle as a kid, so I basically knew them as an important partner and tool for getting work done.” Susie adds, “I had a passion for horses from a very early age, so I would ride anything with four legs, including the plow horses on my grandfather’s ranch.”

Phillips, who graduated from Campbell University with a BS in Psychology and Sociology, also has certificates from Colorado State University in Breeding Management and Artificial Insemination. With thirty years in the horse industry, Phillips has a solid background in horses, starting with 4-H and open shows riding hunter/jumpers before moving into Western competition–showing and selling horses and working for her family’s boutique equine breeding program. Phillips continues showing as an amateur and focuses much of her time on Quarter Horse genetics. Phillips has had many roles in the equine industry, from developing her family’s Quarter Horse breeding program, to starting a successful show apparel business, to managing equestrian facilities.
