In the first Western Pleasure class Sunday morning in the Celeste Arena, Karen Carter captured a unanimous win in a tough 3 Year Old Non Pro Western Pleasure Futurity Limited class with Gone Commando at the All American Quarter Horse Congress!

Then in the afternoon in the Celeste Arena, the L1 Amateur Select Western Pleasure had 47 horses to show, with 3 splits and a finals, and coming out on top was Laura Hall with Do I Look Lazy.
For Laura, it was her first Congress Championship after showing at this level for a number of years and she said it feels unbelievable. “I’m a little overwhelmed,” Laura explained. “I can’t thank Justin and Joy Wheeler any more and the whole Wheeler Team. It takes us all and not just one person, but these two put in so many long hours and they make it easy for us as customers to do what we do.”
She also said that her mare, Bug, short for Bugatti, is by the great stallion Lazy Loper and out of the mare Sudden Illusion. “The talent that this mare has is just amazing; her kindness, her athletic ability; she’s truly a unicorn. People say that a lot but she’s irreplaceable.”
“I have to thank my husband, too, we’ve worked really hard in life and we’re both able to live out some of our dreams, and this is a dream I’ve always had to come to the Congress and be a Congress Champion,” Laura said. “It’s an honor – the other riders and horses out there are so talented and things just fall your way some days, and today was our day.”
