The inaugural APHA Eastern National Championship drew competitors of a skill levels to Lexington, Virginia, March 22-24 to compete for beautiful trophies, custom awards, and National Championship titles. The Eastern National Championship is the first of two, new, Championship-level events that will take place this year, bringing world-class competition to different parts of the country. The Western National Championship will take place October 16–19 in Las Vegas at the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center.

The Eastern National Championship recorded 806 entries per judges with 126 horses across 13 divisions. There were also Solid-Paint bred classes at the show, which saw 163 entries per judge. Judges were Tony Burris, Larry Hansch, John Kunkle, and Cindy Rucker.

Big winners were rewarded for their efforts with trophies, medallions for first through tenth place, trophy headstalls from Harris Leather and Silverworks, photos from Larry Williams Photography, trophy spurs from Gist Silversmith, fleece coolers from Schneider’s Saddlery, and more. In addition, four sets of APHA points were awarded, which will count towards year-end awards and Breeders’ Trust payouts.
