Entice Me Twice and Zuidema win 2YO HUS Stakes at 2026 Congress for Deeds Family Farms
By Delores Kuhlwein
Sunday’s 2 Year Old NSBA Open Hunter Under Saddle Stakes at the 2026 All American Quarter Horse Congress, presented by G.W. & Katherine Tobin and Allocate Your Assets, was packed with tall, gorgeous, 2 year olds with ground covering strides and flow.
When the class ended, the top ten lineup was noticeably influenced by Enticed, the 2018 AQHA stallion 16.2 hands by Its A Southern Thing and out of Pretty Assets, owned by the Deeds family.
A multiple world and Congress champion in his own right, Enticed sired the Unanimous Champion of the 2YO Stakes class, Entice Me Twice with Katy Jo Zuidema for Heather Berry.
“Stetson,” the 2YO by Enticed and out of Pretty Rock N Hot was not an expected purchase, but very much the right one, reveals Katy Jo.“We went to Kelby and Caitlin’s to buy Inn Cognito and we came home with two. As my husband says, you never go wrong buying the best one.”
Heather Berry explains, laughing, “Yeah, he basically pushed me over the edge on that because we went and looked at the stud horse, and then I was sitting there and I was like, ‘Wonder if they’ll do a twofer?’”
As far as Enticed’s impact on the hunt seat industry, Katy Jo says. “I think it’s no doubt he’s the next hunt seat stud horse. The results are showing itself, but they’re just such nice big strong horses.”
Scott Suggs has had Stetson, Katy Jo explains, since he has the hunter horses and she has the western horses, and that has worked out so well, it was just easy for her to show Stetson, who has filled out and grown a lot since she saw him two months ago.
In addition, Katy Jo says the judges were all very complimentary to her about what a nice horse he is. “He likes to act like a clown in line, because he wanted me to scratch him. He’s just a wonderful, wonderful horse.”
