NSBA Foundation Announces 2026 4-Star Trailer Raffle

The NSBA Foundation is pleased to announce that tickets are now available for a 4-Star Trailer raffle to benefit the Foundation’s Youth of the Year Award.

Tickets are available at a cost of $50 per chance to win a 2027 4-Star 2-horse bumper pull trailer and can be purchased at us.emma-live.com/Wina20274StarTrailerPrizeDraw. Tickets will be sold prior to Sunday, October 18, when the winning ticket will be drawn during the All American Quarter Horse Congress National Youth Activity Team Tournament awards ceremony at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio.

All funds raised will benefit the NSBA Foundation’s Youth of the Year Award. The NSBA Foundation’s Youth of the Year Award is presented annually to an NSBA youth member who demonstrates exemplary character in helping others through community service and volunteer work for a worthy cause. 

Past Youth of the Year Award winners have been recognized for a variety of volunteer efforts.
•    2025 recipient Rye Gill creates dog and horse treats that he sells to benefit his local animal shelter and humane society.
•    2024 recipient Abigail Eddy volunteered approximately 500 hours educating her peers about agriculture through events that included an Agriculture Day and her high school’s Aquaponics project.
•    2023 recipient Nick Culwell led a two-year project studying the impact of equine activities on ADHD and other developmental disabilities.
•    2022 award winner Ian McFarlin volunteered more than 550 hours in his community including spending time at Hands and Hearts for Horses equine-assisted therapy center.
•    2021 recipient Grant Mastin created the Tackles For Tots charity, which raises funds to purchase shoes for underprivileged children in his community.
•    2020 recipient Jacqueline Potwora volunteered with her trained therapy dog to visit local retirement facilities and read to underserved elementary students in her community.
•    2018 recipient Anna Lia Sullivan created CHAMPS Challenge, a service project she created as AjPHA President that raised awareness, raised funds and donated tack to therapeutic riding centers.
•    NSBA’s inaugural Youth Of The Year recipient in 2017, Steve Wheat, was recognized for his time spent visiting veterans at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home and volunteering at Shriners Children’s Hospital, Providence House homeless shelter and Volunteers of America’s Highland Center/Maggie’s Closet second-hand clothing store.

About The NSBA Foundation Youth Of The Year Award

The NSBA Foundation’s Youth Of The Year Award is presented annually to an NSBA youth member who demonstrates exemplary character in helping others through community service and volunteer work for a worthy cause. The winning recipient receives a $7,500 scholarship from the Susan Scott Memorial Fund. In addition to the scholarship, the NSBA Foundation will also present a $500 donation to the charity of choice in the recipient’s name.

The NSBA Foundation also presents up to four National Finalists with a $2,000 stipend. Finalists are recognized at the annual NSBA Honors banquet during the NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders Championship Futurity in August.
