What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas! The famed NRHA Run For A Million show is right around the corner! With the exciting new season comes new rules and regulations–and new opportunities for qualifying. This horse show brings some of the very best reining horses and riders in the world together at the prestigious South Point Arena and Equestrian Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 9-15, 2026.

The NRHA Run For A Million has several different categories for professional and non-professional competitors. The highlight of all events is the Million Dollar Competition, where some of the most accomplished NRHA Professionals in the history of reining pilot their elite horses as they compete for an astronomical purse of $1,000,000.

In addition to the Million Dollar Competition, the unparalleled competition also hosts the Cow Horse Challenge, Cutting Horse Challenge, Youth Reining Challenge, Youth Working Cow Horse Challenge, Rookie 1 Challenge, Rookie 2 Challenge, Non-Pro Challenge, Open Shootout, Cowboy Heritage Ranch Challenge, and The Race To The Slide. The Non-Pro Challenge had an increased purse of $125,000 this year, solidifying the significant impact that non-professionals have on the reining industry. In an interesting turn of events, 2026 will be the first year in which there will be nine available rider qualifying spots instead of ten. Due to an injury that prevented Fernando Salgado from competing in 2025, he was able to maintain his spot for the 2026 competition leaving just nine spots to be filled.
