For many breeders of horses, the ultimate dream would be to raise and show their own to a World Championship.
For Joyce Conklin, that dream came true this week at the APHA World Championship Show. Her bay mare, Best Ingredient, by Lopin My Best and out of Special Ingredient won the Amateur Performance Halter Mares class Friday at the show. Then Saturday night, Joyce, who hadn’t shown in a riding class since she showed her dam, Special Ingredient, also won the Amateur Walk Trot Western Pleasure with her!
The class had two splits and a finals class, and we visited with Joyce to learn about this special mare:
