2022 Pleasure Versatility Challenge and Reception Smashing Successes

Rita and Vern Habighorst of Blue Ribbon Custom Tack, sponsors of a saddle, bridle, and show halter awarded during the Versatility class.

On Saturday, November 11th, at the 2022 AQHA World Show, the Pleasure Versatility celebration began with a well-attended reception at 4:30 P.M. on the Norick Concourse, sponsored by the Equine Chronicle.

Attendees were treated to a variety of upscale appetizers from caterers and drinks from the onsite bar, as well as live music from Fifty-One, a band hailing from Stillwater, Oklahoma.

“I wanted to personally thank Tom and Amy Grabe of the Equine Chronicle for their sponsorship across all platforms, including this marquis event, the Pleasure Versatility Challenge, at the AQHA World Show,” says AQHA President Scott Meyers. “It was well-attended and enjoyed by the exhibitors and spectators, and we all appreciate the support.”

At 6 P.M., the much awaited Versatility Challenge began, with thirteen teams competing for the coveted title, starting with a pattern with Trail and Western Riding elements, followed by Western Pleasure, and concluding with the Conformation portion.

Each discipline was judged separately, and the excitement built as the overall winners were announced with much ado at the end of the entire competition.  Countless prizes were handed out during the awards ceremony, including a Cimarron Horse Trailer for the champion, checks for the winners, and a surprise Blue Ribbon work saddle awarded to Cant Be Blue and Michael Jung, the 11th place team.
