Leeman Farms’ stallions, *How Bout This Cowboy and Lazy Loper, have been added to the Western Pleasure program. Leeman Farms’ stallion, Willy Be Invited, has been added to the Hunter Under Saddle program. Richland Ranch’s Mr. Zippos Good Bar has been added to the Western Pleasure program.

PETA Calls For End to Live Animal Mascots Following Sugar Bowl “Incident”; Horse Lovers, What’s Your Opinion?

During the pre-game festivities, each team brought out their respective mascots, the Georgia Bulldog’s “Uga X,” a white bulldog, and the Texas Longhorn’s steer, “Bevo XV.” The two were supposed to meet for a pre-game photo opportunity; however, Bevo got a bit rambunctious with his handlers and broke through the barrier that separated him from the press.

Fast Food Giant, Wendy’s, to Sponsor Freestyle Reining at Dixie Nationals

The Freestyle Reining has become the highlight of the Dixie National Quarter Horse Show and truly demonstrates the great physical ability of the American Quarter Horse. In this class, horse and rider perform reining maneuvers to music and the combination of the two makes for a spectacular show. Approximately 6,000 spectators will journey to Jackson, MS to witness this communication of horse and rider, making the Freestyle Reining a crowd favorite.

Prayers Needed For Trainer, Monte Ruden, Following Devastating Horse Accident

On January 2nd, Monte was in a terrible accident with a horse. He was airlifted from the farm to Mayo Hospital in Rochester. His initial surgery was 12 hours to stop the internal bleeding. He has since gone through four additional surgeries to fix a broken femur in his right leg and to repair his intestines. He will be at St Mary’s for two to three more weeks. Due to the severity of his injuries, myself and his family have held off making this public.

AZ Fall Championship – More Entries & More Fun!

Arizona Quarter Horse Association strives to give exhibitors what they want at all the shows they produce. Delivering towards that goal has been a big component of the upward trajectory of entries at the Arizona Fall Championship. The 2018 show, held September 19-23 in Scottsdale, Arizona, saw 7,603 AQHA class entries, which represents a 17% growth over the previous year.
