Over time, glory fades. The cheers subside, more champions are crowned, buckles become worn and new goals are made. Education, however, lasts a lifetime, and the AjPHA Youth World Championship Show is helping young competitors reach this invaluable prize by offering more than $165,000 in scholarships!

That includes at least $1,300 worth of scholarships awarded in each world championship class in 2016—more in some cases, thanks to generous sponsors—as well as special scholarship awards for our all-around winners, high-point horse judgers, sportsmanship winner and more.

At the 2016 show, scholarships will be awarded to:

  • 1st–3rd in all AjPHA world championship performance classes
  • 1st–6th in all AjPHA world championship halter classes
  • A randomly selected exhibitor in every world championship class
  • Highest-placing Youth without a trainer in each halter class*
  • All-Around 13 & Under, 14–18 and Novice Youth winners
  • High-Point Power Performance champion and reserve champion
  • Robyn Hanna Sportsmanship Award winner
  • Youth Horse Judging High-Point Individuals (Junior and Senior)

*Requires additional application form in show office

Remember, to be eligible for most 2016 scholarships, your horse must have been owned or leased by March 1, 2016.

No qualifying is required to compete at the Youth World Show, and there’s classes fit for any age, division and discipline. Learn more and enter today at apha.com/ywcs.

About the Paint Youth Trust

Since 2013, Paint industry supporters and the American Paint Horse Foundation have worked to lessen the burden of big dreams by awarding scholarships in select classes at the AjPHA Youth World Championship Show. High school seniors have already claimed more than $22,000 of their hard-earned cash—a welcome addition to their college funds. The majority of APHF’s scholarship winners have not yet graduated from high school—their funds are being held in trust by the foundation.

Helping to build the future of horse industry Youth—and encouraging these young horsemen and –women to continue pursuing their equestrian passions alongside their educations—is an invaluable move to ensure a healthy horse industry for years to come.

Help paint a bright future for more Youth by donating to the American Paint Horse Foundation’s Paint Youth Trust at apha.com/foundation.
