Allowing solid horses to show alongside their colored peers is certainly not a new discussion. It’s something that has been contemplated for years. However, with the current state of the industry, the Committee believes that the time is now to make such a move so future generations have a Paint Horse industry to enjoy. Hence, the reason for asking the Board of Directors for Emergency Action on the proposal, instead of waiting until the 2021 Convention.

For the past 20 years, Pilot Knob Quarter Horses has stood some of the top stallions in the industry, and, this month, they will be closing their doors as the facility changes hands. The picturesque property located in the foothills of Pinnacle, NC. has been owned by Mike Hay since 2001, where he has managed stallions like Luke At Me, Hot N Blazing, One Hot Krymsun, Mazeratti, Extremely Hot Chips, The Rock, The Krymsun Kruzer, Secretz, Whizkey On The Rocks, Telusive, An Absolute Martini, and more, breeding up to 300 mares a year.

Nutrena Level 1 Select amateur classes will be held in conjunction with the Adequan® Select World. These classes have been added, due to the cancellation of the 2020 Nutrena AQHA Level 1 Championships and AQHA Cattle Level 1 Championships in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. AQHA staff worked in conjunction with the AQHA Show and Professional Horsemen councils to develop an exhibitor-friendly schedule for 2020.

“They’ve had big rocks, bricks, and water balloons filled with urine thrown at them and people screaming at them. They’ve had Molotov cocktails and firecrackers thrown at them. They are standing on cement for 15 hours a day, just like the officers are. The most tragic thing is the look in their eyes when you walk in their stalls. They are listless. Like droids… machines. As a horse person, it is gut wrenching.”
