Julian Harris/The Classic Asset, Karen Hornick/A Slow Martini Win First Gordyville/ILQHA Spring Fling Slot Classes

The Gordyville/ILQHA March Spring Fling got off to a great start this past Saturday with Rick Baker, Brett Clark, and Marilyn Randall judging.

The first special event was the $3,000 added NSBA Green Hunter Under Saddle Slot class. Julian Harris riding The Classic Asset for owner, Karen Ripper, and Valerie Kearns riding Ima Inpulse Assets for owner, Maria Lemenger, tied for the win. They each took home a check for $1,333. Julian Harris and his 3-year old-gelding, The Classic Asset, won the tiebreaker judge to take home the champion trophy and prizes including a Back on Track Saddle Pad, Pard’s Gift Certificate, Cinch Vest, ILQHA polo wraps, and championship neck ribbon.

Payton Ann Boutelle was the highest placing non-pro in the class on Heres Hopin Im Hot. She took home a bonus check for $250 from the ILQHA Amateur Committee as well as a Back on Track saddle pad, a gift certificate from Pard’s Western Store, a gift certificate from SmartPak, a gift certificate from Hannah Draugan Photography, a Cinch Vest, and ILQHA polo wraps.

On Sunday, the show featured the $9,000 added NSBA Green Western Pleasure Slot Class. Karen Hornick and A Slow Martini, owned by Jaida Elizabeth Lauren, won the top prize. They took home a check for $3,000, a saddle rack from Best Barn Solutions, a Pard’s Western Store gift certificate, a Cinch Vest, ILQHA polo wraps, and the NSBA Championship trophy and Championship neck ribbon.
