Eight colorful changemakers—both horses and human—were honored by the American Paint Horse Association at APHA Convention February 26 during the Hall of Fame banquet.

Equine Hall of Fame inductees were honored with Cowboy Bronze statues in their likeness; inducted horsemen were presented with statues custom to a significant Paint in their program. Amid speeches and cheers, a true sense of love for the Paint Horse breed was universal.

“When our family was notified of the Hall of Fame induction, I spent some time on the website reading some articles,” Hall of Fame Inductee Jerry Peddycoart’s daughter, Sharon Frost, said. “And when I read the [APHA Mission Statement,] I read it in Dad’s voice. To me, it perfectly summed up his feelings: ‘We inspire, nurture, promote and provide meaningful experiences to generations interested in preserving the versatile Paint Horse.’

“Dad would be pleased with the direction that you all have taken the association. Jerry Peddycoart was always proud to be a member of the APHA and he would have been humbled with this recognition. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.”

Leading clubs and distinguished current members were also recognized at the banquet. Congratulations to the following:
