Outwit, Outplay, Outlast: Survivor Congress Style

Filed under: Around The Ring Galleries,Featured,Show Results & Gallery |

October 3, 2026, by Connie Lechleitner, NSBA:

Quincy Clagg is a veteran Quarter Horse Congress competitor, but even she was a little overwhelmed after winning the Youth Ranch Rail class with her horse, Trick Me Out, after the class took eight splits, two semi-finals and a final to determine the champion.

“I just wanted to be clean, and in the finals, I asked him for a little more,” Quincy said. “I was just trying to stay out of his way and let him show pretty. He’s the perfect mover, he has some expression and he’s just pretty and flashy.”

Quincy was surprised to be the last one standing in the Youth Ranch Rail awards. “I wasn’t really expecting much because he is new. I just wanted to be good, and it worked out for the best,” she said. “When we went to look at him, we were buying him as a Reining horse. But when we saw him in person, we thought what a great mover he was, and so we figured he would be able to do the Ranch events too. He’s big, he’s pretty and he’s really the perfect fit for me.”

Quincy began her show career in Youth All Around events, and has progressed to Ranch and Reining events over the years. “My All Around horse got hurt, so that was how I got into the Ranch classes,” she said. “I enjoy it a lot.”

What makes the win even more impressive is that Quincy has only been a partner with her horse since late July and he is a young horse at just four years old. “I just got him before the AQHYA Youth World Show,” she explained. “This is my first time showing him and his first time to do the Ranch classes. I couldn’t ask for more.” Trick Me Out is by Tricked Out Spook and out of Chics Luv Chocolate. Quincy and her gelding also placed sixth in the Non Pro Western Working Rail Stakes earlier in the Congress. Reining trainer Kole Price had shown the gelding earlier this year to top ten finishes at the Winter Slide.

Other Ranch champions on Saturday included Time For A Reckoning and Steve Meadows for Katie Mae Green winning the Level 1 Senior Ranch Trail; CC Valentino and Addison Stanley who were named champions in Level 1 Youth Ranch Riding 13 & Under and Revolving Cash Flow and Arielle Boyette, winning Level 1 Youth Ranch Riding 14-18.

The All American Quarter Horse Congress continues through October 25. To view complete show results, please visit quarterhorsecongress.com, or view the Horse Show Tracker app.
