The first two World Champions of the morning have been crowned in Halter classes here at the 2017 AQHA World Show. First up, Luke Castle led Hesakeeper to win Weanling Geldings for Bob Cassata of Double C Acres. This pretty sorrel gelding is by Ecredible and out of Keepmee In Mind.

Earlier in the week, Bob led his new gelding to win Amateur Weanling Geldings, which was a very exciting accomplishment, because this is his first AQHA World Show. “It’s been great! I’m a Paint guy. Frank Berris and Kelley Stone have been trying to bring me over to the dark side,” he laughs.

“I think, from Bob’s perspective, he never gets tired of showing great horses. For him, this was a brand new hill to climb, a great challenge,” Kelley adds.

Headley2Bob purchased Hesakeeper just four days ago, here at the World Show, so this was his first time competing with the gelding. “He stood right up and showed perfect, like a soldier.”

Ted Turner

Kelley adds, “That colt is as correct in his frame as he is big and muscular. There are very few babies out there, as good as he is from the side, and with as much muscle and weight as he has, that are also as good legged as he is. He’s very unique in that way, and that’s what stood out to us.”

The Reserve Champion was Jason Smith with Erratic for Jeffrey and Joy Stehney. Third was Steve Ferguson with Illicit Intention for Amy Jo Erhardt. Fourth was Tim Finkenbinder with ER Intentional Star for Ricardo Rejon. Fifth was Jeffrey Pait with Scorz for Ina Ginsberg.

In the next class, Yearling Geldings, Ted Turner led Big Time Addiction to win for Amanda Wallinger-Rowan. We had the chance to chat with Amanda earlier in the week following her win in Amateur Yearling Geldings with her double registered AQHA/APHA gelding, Big Time Addiction. Click here to view.

The Reserve Champion was Ross Roark with Guns and Leather. Third was Jason Smith the Total Intention. Fourth was Buddy Laney with FG Notorious. Fifth was Jarrell Jackson with TNR Ecredibly Cool. The L2 Champion was Ken Berry with Secrets Gotta B Cool.
