Cornhusker Champions Named in Futurity Classes

The Cornhusker Classic is well underway in Lincoln, Nebraska, June 14-23, and several futurity champions have been crowned in Premier Sires futurity classes.

Hillary Roberts rode Whatsgosaround to win $1,800 in 3-Year-Old Non Pro Western Pleasure. The Reserve Champion was Linda Berwick with Chasing Batterflies, who won $1,250. Third was Brooke Granzow with Darksydeofthemoon, who won $1,000. Fourth was Jessica Olsen Broome and Whoose On First, who won $700. Fifth was Mallory Vroegh with Ill Be Batting Ona RV, who won $600.

In 2-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure, the champion was Jay Starnes with Never Have I Ever, winning $3,500 for Dakota Andrie. The Reserve Champion was Andy Cochran with Line Up Behind, winning $2,250 for Capital Quarter Horse, LLC. Third was Angie Cannizzaro with Nana Nana Batt Man, winning $1,500 for Christina Hansen. Fourth was Adam Mathis with Made After Hours, winning $1,000 for Cory Seebach and Candice Hall. Fifth was Mallory Menard with Made In Detroit, winning $750. Sixth was Pat Heeley with Glamazon Girl. Seventh was Justin Clay Arrington with Ill Be Dun Won It for Vickie Kent. Eighth was Tom Forehand with Master Mechanic Only for Seth Fender.

Winning 3-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle was Beth Case with Hez A Dancing Hubba, winning $1,700 for Chris Lagerblade. The Reserve Champion was Dawn Baker with Onn Cloud Nine, winning $1,350 for Beth Hartman. Third was Sandra Morgan with Im Willy Good Today, winning $1,000. Fourth was Hannah Lind with Thank God Itz Friday, winning $500 for Heather Maas. Fifth was Ryan Painter with Al About It, winning $450 for Sara Jackson-Vance.

In 3-Year-Old Limited Non Pro Western Pleasure, the Champion was Katie Buff with VS Red Hot, winning $1,200. The Reserve Champion was Laina Banks with Woulda Coulda Shoulda, winning $1,000. Third was Amy Gumz with If It Aint Southern, winning $900. Fourth was Haley Purkapile with Get In Line Behind, winning $600. Fifth was Betty Jo Carr with Machine Made Crystal, winning $500.

The Color Breed Western Yearling Longe Line Champion was Gavin Pope with Paper Rock Scissors, winning $720 for Jillian Willem. The Reserve Champion was Donald Hagen with Extremely Hot Goji, winning $480 for Jennifer Hagen. The Hunter Yearling Longe Line was won by Gavin Pope with GTG Southern Delight, winning $1,375 for Gumz Farms Quarter Horses. The Western Yearling Longe Line was won by Mike Tivoli with The Solitaire Affair, winning $2,252 for Brent Walker. The Reserve Champion was Donald Hagen with VS Cha Cha Cha Chia, winning $1,788 for Jennifer Hagen.  Third was Gavin Pope with Shes Plenty Southern, winning $1,325 for Gumz Farms Quarter Horses. Fourth was Kristy Starnes with Caution Hot Chips, winning $662 for Eric Turner. Fifth was Donald Hagen with Extremely Hot Goji, winning $596 for Jennifer Hagen.

The winner of 3-Year-Old Open Trail was Jennifer Paul with Mo Money, winning $1,000 for Stephanie Janis. The Reserve Champion was Becky George with Ima Southern Loper, winning $750 for Jana Whitley. Third place was Shannon Vroegh with Amarillo By Moonlite, winning $650. Fourth was Jess Bergantzel with Betcha Want This, winning $500. Fifth was Morgan Brickham with Willy Good Breeze, winning $300. Sixth was Becky George with Been Sleepin for Mallory Menard. Seventh was Shannon Vroegh with The Batt Boy, for Sheryl Biondahl.

The winner of 4 and 5-Year-Old Open Trail was Bruce Vickery with Only One Request, winning $1,200 for Scott Reinartz. The Reserve Champion was Will Knabenshue with Party Favours, winning $900 for Kara Sisco. Third was Will Knabenshue with The Hotrod Loper, winning $600 for David Townsley. Fourth was Jennifer Paul with Lazy Boy, winning $500 for Jolene Mierzejewski. Fifth was Jennifer Paul with KM Genuinely Best for Emma Brown. Sixth was Deanna Searles with KM Flat Out the Best for Susan Jones. Seventh was Brad Ost with Baby Lets Ride for Rick Meredith.  Eighth was Seth Fender with VS Access Denied for Maureen Keeney.

The winner of 3-Year-Old Limited Horse Limited Rider Hunter Under Saddle was Shannon Gillespie with Al Be Bleu, winning $10,210 for Tali Terlizziand. The Reserve Champion was Kaitlin LeBlanc with Blue Sky Enterprise, winning $6,425 for Capall Creek Farm. Third was Hannah Lind with Thank God Itz Friday, winning $3,925 for Heather Maas. Fourth was Mandie House with The Right Mechanic, winning $3,300 for Anna and Jimmy Langley. Fifth was Kristin Pokluda with My Wish, winning $2,675 for Angie Highland. Sixth was Shannon Vroegh with Pitch Perfect, winning $2,050 for Tracy Bennett. Seventh was Morgan Brickham with Willy Good Breeze, winning $1,425. Eighth was Kelly Jadin with Big Leaguer Huntin, winning $1,240.

The winner in 2-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle was Patti Woods with Mechanical Assets, winning $1,200 for Kelly Olsen. The Reserve Champion was Farley McLendon with Just Browzin, winning $850 for Deanna Darroh. Third was Kaitlin LeBlanc with Red Carpet Debut, winning $700 for Capall Creek Farm. Fourth was Sandra Morgan with The Repairman, winning $500. Fifth was Shayla Shipley with Only N These Irons, winning $300.

The $5,000 Limited Horse Open Western Pleasure was won by Katy Jo Zuidema with Knockin It Out, winning $3,040 for Kathryn Frederick. The Reserve Champion was Aaron Moses with Snap It Send It, winning $2,090 for Kent Ray Taylor. Third was Erin Lieurance with Lazy Lady Chip, winning $1,805 for Dave Nitz. Fourth was Houston Huff with KM Nothin Better, winning $950 for Masterson Farms, LLC. Fifth was Shannon Holbin with Hot And Lazy, winning $855 for Bill and Cindy Cosentino. Sixth was Kristy Starnes with Enchanted Lexus, winning $760 for William Dean Oliver. Seventh was Jamie Zuidema with Takalittleridewithme for Reagan Schwartz. Eighth was Kelby Hutchinson with Don’t Know Don’t Care for Capall Creek Farm.

The Level 2 Senior Trail was won by Jennifer Paul with Ever So Sudden for Sabrina Janis. This team won $1,200. The Reserve Champion was Deanna Searles with Hereicomagain, winning $900 for Kathy Tobin. Third was Sara Simons with KM Jazz It Up, winning $600 for Sheila Franklin. Fourth was Jess Bergantzel with Memphis Bound, winning $500 for Koleene Herlocker. Fifth was Will Knabenshue with Bringing On The Best for Cynthia Keeton Rosson. Sixth was Shannon Vroegh with VS Born To Be Good for Laurie Rutledge. Seventh was Barbie Evans with Pass Code for Rebecca Ries Walter.
