The American Quarter Horse Association Executive Committee approves new judges, who will be held to the highest of standards when judging American Quarter Horses at AQHA-approved events.

The following judge applicants were approved by the AQHA Judges Committee to take the 2020 judges qualifying exam. Based on test scores and additional criteria, the Judges Committee then approved a list of prospective new judges that were reviewed and approved by the AQHA Executive Committee.

Smoky Pritchett of Red Bluff, California

Specialized Ranch Riding

Approved specialized halter judges are credentialed through the World Conformation Horse Association approved judges process before they can apply to become a specialized AQHA halter judge. The following judges were approved;

Specialized Halter

Ann Jones of Flowery Branch, Georgia
Rick Leek of Dryden, Michigan
Phillip Wilkinson of Alpharetta, Georgia

To be recognized as an AQHA-approved specialized over fences judge, applicants must be recognized as a Large R judge with the United States Equestrian Federation, as well as being approved by the AQHA Judges Committee. The following judges were approved;

Carol Delacy of Alden, New York
Laurie Grayson of Boulder, Colorado
