From Lindsay Singleton McKnight, Palmetto Paint Horse Club:
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Sharon Kastrova.
For those who have been part of PPHC for many years, Sharon and Lester need little introduction. They were part of the PPHC family long before some of us entered our first class, and together they truly set the standard for what a horse show secretary and announcer should be. More importantly, they became treasured friends to so many in our horse show community.
While Sharon’s declining health meant that she and Lester had not been able to be part of our shows for the past several years, the impact they made and the friendships they built have never faded. Sharon will always be part of PPHC’s history and our extended horse show family.
At this time, we ask everyone to please respect Lester’s privacy and give him the time and space he needs. PPHC, CPHC, and SCQHA have created a group card so our members and friends can share their memories, condolences, and love with him.
The card will be sent to Lester at noon on Tuesday, August 25, (Eastern Standard Time) :

We also plan to honor Sharon with a memorial service at our October show. Additional details will be shared as plans are finalized.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Home Care & Hospice:

Please keep Lester and all of Sharon’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. We are grateful for the many years Sharon gave to our horse show community, and even more grateful for the friendship she gave so many of us.
