The 2016 Don Burt Professional’s Choice Professional Horseman of the Year is Casey Devitt of Frankfort, Kentucky. Devitt sets an example for what an active AQHA Professional Horseman and AQHA member should look like. He has been involved in every aspect of the industry – from racing to showing.

Tordoff, who has served on various OQHA/AAQHC committees including Chair of the Annual Banquet Committee, OQHA Long Term Planning, Finance, and Public Policy Committees, Animal Protection and Fire, Stall Move-In, and VIP Awards, will be a valuable addition to the Tri-Chairmen.

Also in the report, 2016-17 AQHA President Sandy Arledge explains the priorities she focused on in 2016. Those objectives included to continue the efforts made on behalf of animal welfare by AQHA Past President Dr. Glenn Blodgett; to focus on three interrelated areas of importance: communication, education and refining perception; and to reinvigorate the state, provincial and international affiliate programs.

The Stars & Stripes and Big A was AQHA’s #3 show in the country last year with over 20,000 entries. This year’s event will take place June 30-July 9th in Conyers, GA.

In his new role, Billings will determine and formulate policies/procedures and provide overall direction of AQHA’s shows. He will also plan, direct and coordinate operational activities related to AQHA-approved events with continued success of AQHA’s world and championship shows.

The schedule and Judges’ List for the 2017 NSBA World Show and Show Your Colors is now online. The event will take place August 12-20 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Solid Gold Futurity is back! Returning to Lake St. Louis, MO. May 25-28 in the form of the Solid Gold Series, the All Breed Maiden Futurity will be held in conjunction with the MoQHA Gateway Classic.
