Punchy Paints showed off their ranch horse resumes during three tough phases of the first-ever Youth Versatility Ranch Horse Challenge at the 2018 APHA Youth World Championship Show.

The red, white and blue waved proudly as Team USA celebrated their victory in the 2018 Youth World Games, which concluded July 3 in Fort Worth, Texas. The team of five horsewomen—Sabine Lazo, Kellianne Lunny, Gianna Pozzi, Sarah Beth Felker and Livia Hillenburg—bested six other teams hailing from around the globe to claim the top prize.

Coming into the Youth World Show, Rebecca wasn’t expecting much from Bob; the quiet sorrel overo is only 5 years old, after all, and the World Show was only their fifth outing together, so they set their sights on strong patterns and finalist callbacks. Instead, they loped away from tough classes with plenty of ribbons and championship buckles. In addition to their halter win, Rebecca and Bob snagged world championships in Youth Showmanship 18 & Under and Youth Western Horsemanship 18 & Under; a reserve world championship in Youth Hunter Under Saddle 18 & Under rounded out their top placings, along with Top 10 finishes in Youth Trail 18 & Under and Youth Hunt-Seat Equitation 18 & Under.

This regional championship is featured as part of the six-day Region Six Super 6 Series packed with a variety of classes starting at 7 a.m. on July 17 at the Eastern States Exposition Center. AQHA Region 6 classes kick off on Friday, July 20. AQHA judges Tom McBeath, Buddy Fisher, Kristy Starnes, Tanya Green, Gayle Lampinen and Suzy Jeane will judge the Region Six Super 6 Series.
