The American Quarter Horse Association is excited to announce the judges for the 2020 AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan).

See ACAAP rules contained in the 2020 Official Handbook of the ApHC for complete rules. This exciting opportunity is available in multiple class categories and are a great opportunity, especially for those who compete in hard-to-find disciplines like cutting, roping and jumping.

“Transitioning the seminar to a virtual setting allowed attendees experience the benefits of YES while remaining in the safety of their own homes,” said Katie Reynolds, AQHA director of youth programs. “All AQHYA members and nonmembers, ages 10 to 18, parents and adult leaders were invited to attend this year’s virtual seminar. Participants were given full access to live and pre-recorded leadership sessions, which are now available online for viewing at any time.”

This year, the American Quarter Horse Foundation is awarding 159 students a total of $420,750 for the 2020-21 academic year. Since its inception in 1976, the Foundation scholarship program has awarded more than $8.5 million in financial assistance to more than 1,500 young horse enthusiasts and industry members. 

Dates- July 20-26, 2020 This year’s show starts Monday, July 20 at 3:00 pm.
No unloading of horses or tack before 8 am Sunday, July 19, 2020.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to welcome all Select exhibitors to compete at this year’s show since the AQHA Executive Committee waived the qualifying requirements due to the coronavirus pandemic,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “For the first time, this year’s show will feature Level 3 and Nutrena Level 1 classes for riders and their American Quarter Horses to compete in. Also new this year, exhibitors will have the ability to enter an optional jackpot in each class with 100% payback.”  

“We are so pleased to once again have these shows recognized as some of the best in the country by the AQHA. It truly takes a village to accomplish such a designation, and we have to thank our exhibitors, staff and supporters for all of their hard work and dedication. We are looking forward to an even greater event in 2020 and can’t wait to see everyone back in the show ring,” commented Kathy Avolt of An Equine Production.

The Exhibitor Sponsorship Program is designed to enhance the experience for exhibitors attending the APHA World Show. Sponsorships range from $500 to $5,000, and in addition to receiving valuable perks with the package you select, most of the money raised will be used to enhance payouts at the World Show, which puts more money into the pockets of exhibitors.
