AQHA Awarded $20,000 to Competitors Through John Deere Double-Qualifying Incentive at 2021 AQHA VRH World

The American Quarter Horse Association awarded $20,000 through the John Deere VRH Double-Qualifying Incentive to exhibitors at the 2021 AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse World Championships. This special side pot was available only to AQHA VRH World competitors who met the qualifying requirements in 2020 and 2021.

The John Deere Double-Qualifying Incentive awarded a total side pot of $20,000 to the highest-placing 2020 and 2021 qualifiers in each division:

Junior Division

CR Wood She Bea Star and Charles Pellham – $2,000
Chica Three Boons and Michelle Pellham – $1,000
Senior Division

Raised On It and Mike Major – $2,000
Bourbon N Branch and Leanne E. Jetton – $1,000
Cowboy Division

TRR Lil Shining Palo and Kaitlin H. Kirsch – $1,700
Rusty Dun It Smart and Susan Crews Major – $800
Amateur Division

Precious Metalz and Stefani Wagley – $2,000
Opus Cat Olena and Jecca Ostrander – $1,000
Limited Amateur Division

Boots Be Tuff and Larry Walker – $2,000
Angies Metallic Time and Melinda Mayes-Kelly – $1,000
Youth Division

Boons Gallito Rojo and Lane Andrew Johnson – $1,000
Rey Out There and Mead William Gerfen – $500
Limited Youth Division

SF Jack Pot and Caleigh Iwanski – $1,000
DCC Sabe Pepto and Brie Riley – $500

AQHA also presented an additional incentive to recognize exhibitors who missed their last year of youth and horses who missed their last year of junior eligibility due to the cancellation of the 2020 AQHA VRH World. A $1,000 award and custom-made set of romal reins were presented to Megan Newlon, riding Langtrees CD, as the highest-placing rider born in 2001, who was qualified to compete as an all-around youth or limited youth at the 2020 AQHA VRH World. Raised On It, shown by Mike Major, was the highest-placing American Quarter Horse foaled in 2014 that was qualified to compete as an all-around junior horse at the 2020 AQHA VRH World. Raised On It received $1,000 and a custom-made set of romal reins.
