For the second-consecutive year, VQH Heart Stoppin won the 2026 Breeders’ Futurity Leading Performance Sire award. The honor is based on total money earned by a sire’s progeny in Gold Breeders’ Futurity classes at the 2026 APHA World Championship Show.
The APHA Breeders’ Futurity is a prestigious annual competition with lucrative purses that showcases the offspring of Breeders’ Trust-subscribed stallions and the mares bred to them. Gold Breeders’ Futurity classes are split between the World Show (performance classes) and the APHA/WCHA Halter Million (halter classes). Results are tallied separately for each show, with a Gold Breeders’ Futurity Leading Sire award presented for each event.
This year, VQH Heart Stoppin had nine foals earn $16,062 in Gold Breeders’ Trust classes at the APHA World Show. That represents a 21% increase in the total earnings of his foals from 2025 to 2026. Top performers at the event included:
A 2016 bay overo stallion, VQH Heart Stoppin is by RL Best Of Sudden (QH) and out of One Hot Mouse. Voge Quarter Horses of Whitesboro, Texas, bred and owns the stallion.
“Justin and I were extremely thrilled to receive this news,” Julie Voge said. “We were able to be at the Paint World for almost the entire time this year and loved watching everyone compete with their Heart Stoppins. It’s such an honor to represent this stallion.”
