The National Snaffle Bit Association Foundation is pleased to announce that Lena Sater, of Canton, Georgia, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 NSBA Foundation Scholarship.
Lena will attend the University of South Carolina and pursue a degree in biochemistry and molecular sciences. She will also be a member of the USC Division 1 equestrian team. Her ultimate goal is to attend medical school and become an anatomical pathologist and conduct hands-on research.
While in high school, Lena served as president of the Science Honor Society and was a member of the Future Health Professionals, participating mock evaluations and blood drives where she found her passion for the healthcare industry.
She has been an active member of the Georgia Quarter Horse Youth Association for the past ten years, where she is a past president and currently serves as GQHYA reporter.
The NSBA Foundation annually awards one scholarship in the amount of $2,000 to reward academic merit and accommodate financial need, with $1,000 awarded during the first year and the second installment awarded during the recipient’s second college year.
