Western Pleasure Super Sires Program Announces New Cash Bonuses and Awards For Inaugural Event at 2013 Reichert Celebration

Filed under: Club and Show News |

If you haven’t sent in your entries for the inaugural Western Pleasure Super Sires event at the 2013 Reichert Celebration, you’d better get the ball rolling. In addition to offering a guaranteed minimum payout of $80,000 for the Three-Year-Old Open Non Pro Western Pleasure and Three-Year-Old Limited Non Pro Western Pleasure, program coordinators have recently announced a slew of bonuses and a brand new awards list.

We chatted with Western Pleasure Super Sires Executive Director Liz Hay to get the inside scoop on all of the exciting additions to this new futurity program.

“We are trying to reward everybody along the way who has put some effort into getting the offspring of these studs out there,” Hay says.

The first in a long list of bonuses is an extra $1,500 for the highest placing limited non pro rider who competes in the Open Non Pro class. In the same fashion, the highest placing novice non pro rider who competes in the Limited Non Pro class will also receive $1,500. In addition, those same high placing riders will each receive a custom fitting by Rod Patrick Bootmakers for a stunning pair of caiman boots.

Another new $500 bonus will be awarded to the highest placing color horse in the Open Non Pro class and Limited Non Pro class. In an effort to promote those exhibitors with home-bred horses, the highest placing home-bred in the Open Non Pro class will receive $500, and the highest placing home-bred in the Limited Non Pro class will receive $500.

But the bonuses don’t stop there! The recorded breeder of the winner of the Open Non Pro class and Limited Non Pro class will each receive $500 as well as a beautiful Marrita Black photo frame.

One convenience that is being offered to exhibitors is the opportunity to enter via PayPal. All you have to do is download the entry form, send it in with your e-mail address, and an invoice will be sent to you directly from PayPal. The early entry fee is $250 by August 15th. Entries will still be accepted via e-mail and at the horse show after that date, however, the entry fee will increase to $500.

Want to take advantage of the early entry fee but not sure which class you’re going to enter? Don’t worry. The program is now giving exhibitors the option of entering by August 15th and then declaring which class you’d like to compete in when you arrive at the show.

Champion buckles will be awarded to the winners of each class, and Schneider’s coolers, sheets, and stall bags will be presented to those riders placing second through 10th. Also in each class, a random draw will determine who will win a Blue Ribbon Custom Tack work saddle with the WPSS logo.

Make sure that you’re at the 2013 Reichert Celebration in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday, September 7th for the inaugural Western Pleasure Super Sires event. This event will be NSBA dual-approved, and therefore will be run in accordance with NSBA rules and rider designations.

The Western Pleasure Super Sires program would like to thank their generous sponsors; The Equine Chronicle, Nutrena, Rod Patrick Bootmakers, Marrita Black, Blue Ribbon Custom Tack, Johne Dobbs Equine Insurance, and Schneider Saddlery. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the Western Pleasure Super Sires program, it’s not too late.
