AQHA competitors from across the country gathered in Madison, WI, at the Alliant Energy Center August 30th-September 3rd for some fun competition at the State Show and Cheesehead Classic. The event was judged by Mike Hay, Steve Heckaman, Stephen Stephens, Debra Jones-Wright, Kristy Starnes, and Lori Gingrich.
The highlight of the show was the slot classes that offered big checks to the winners, in addition to $100 for the highest placing non pro and an additional $150 if that person was a WQHA member.
The Ranch Riding Slot Class Winner was Jax Bound riding Bound For Pay Chex, a horse owned by Jim Bound. The team received $688 and the Champion buckle, sponsored by Sales Paddock App. Jax was also the highest placing non pro and WQHA member for a $250 bonus payout, sponsored by the Wisconsin Amateur Quarter Horse Association.
2nd place – Summer Sangria, owned and shown by Tammy Cutsforth. They received $430 and a custom tooled leather halter, sponsored by Original Leatherwerks and Melissa Werkheiser; an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt; and a Noble Outfitters gift bag, sponsored by One Stop Equine Shop.
3rd place – Girls Lovin Time, owned by James Johnson, and shown by Andy Chwala. They earned $284, 100 lb of Nutrena Feed, an Equo Equine Transport Tshirt, and a polo shirt sponsored by VS Cracked the Code.
4th place – SLJ Im Stubborn Juice, owned by Danielle Beauchamp, and shown by Jennifer Burton. They earned $189, Doctors Choice Supplement, Anew Insurance gift bag, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, and a $50 gift certificate for Corral boots, sponsored by Crane Echo Tack.
5th place – We B Good, owned by Marcia Smith, and shown by Amy Marx. They earned $129, a one month supply of Horse Logic Supplements, donated by Horse Logic, represented by Becki Schwab-Janezick; an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt; and Anew Insurance bag.
6th – Mighty Super Star, owned and shown by Linda Berg. They received a Lou Lou & Bon Bon Sign, 100 lb of Nutrena Feed, and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
7th place – Chrome Me Out, owned and shown by Kerry Hansen. They received Progressive Nutrition Supplement package, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, and an Anew Insurance Bag.
8th place – Mister Boomtastic, owned by Brock Reinback and shown by Britney Reinbach. They received an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
9th place – Pumped Up Kicks, owned and shown by Peggy Leer. They received an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
10th place – KWF My Mommas Iron Will, owned by Michael Bradley and shown by Jessica Bradley. They received an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
The winner of Green Western Pleasure was Freak N Cool, owned by Susan Elliot and shown by Kevin Carr. They won a payout of $592 and the Champion buckle, sponsored by the Sales Paddock App.
2nd place – Made It Rain, owned by Jennifer Huntoon and shown by Mark Zeitler. They earned $370, 100 lb of Nutrena Feed, a Noble Outfitters Gift Bag, sponsored by One Stop Equine Shop, and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
3rd place – First One In Last One Out, owned by Patti Bogosh and shown by Valerie Kearns. They earned $244, 100 lb of Nutrena Feed, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, Progressive Nutrition Supplement package, and a polo shirt sponsored by VS Cracked the Code.
4th place – KM Certainly Best, owned by Ashley Fawns and shown by Brock Reinbach. They earned $163, a Doctors Choice Supplement package, Anew Insurance Bag, and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
5th place – Willy Gonna Want Me, owned and shown by Kathy Saterbak. They earned $111 and a $100 bonus for being the highest placing non pro, sponsored by WAQHA. They also received a one month supply of Horse Logic Supplements, donated by Horse Logic and represented by Becki Schwab-Janezick, and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
6th place – My Federal Career, owned by Charles Schoepf and shown by Gayle Lampinen. They received a Lou Lou & Bon Bon Sign and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
The winner of the Green Hunter Under Saddle was Lucky To Sleep, owned and shown by Amy Bucholtz. They earned $560 plus the Champion buckle, sponsored by Sales Paddock App. Amy also won an additional $250 bonus payout for being the highest placing non pro and WQHA member, sponsored by the Wisconsin Amateur Quarter Horse Association.
2nd place – Uptown Joe Brown, owned by Curt Ferguson and shown by Amy Marx. They earned $350 and received a $150 Marigold gift certificate, sponsored by Marigold and Daly Creek Tack; an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, and a Noble Outfitters gift bag, sponsored by One Stop Equine Shop.
3rd place – Better With Moxie, owned by Ami Spevacek and shown by Brittany Kroll. They earned $231, 100 lb Nutrena Feed, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, a Lou Lou & Bon Bon Sign, a $150 Marigold gift certificate sponsored by Marigold and Daly Creek Tack, and a polo shirt sponsored by VS Cracked the Code.
4th place – Sumptin Cool, owned and shown by Chad Sandoval. They earned $154 and a Doctors Choice Supplement, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, and a $200 gift certificate towards an HDR Saddle sponsored by Crane Echo Tack.
5th place – Devious Escape, owned by Stephanie Hathaway and shown by Jennifer Burton They earned $105 and a one month supply of Horse Logic Supplements, represented by Becki Schwab-Janezick; an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, an Anew Insurance Gift bag, and a $50 Gift Certificate towards a pair of hunt seat boots sponsored by Crane Echo Tack.
6th place – Never Had It This Good owned by Kate Kramer and shown by Wendy Laesch. They received an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt and an Anew Gift Bag.
The winner of the Longe Line class was Its Only Rock and Roll, owned and shown by Kurt Heling. Kurt received a payout of $624 and a Champion buckle, sponsored by Sales Paddock App. Kurt also earned a $250 bonus payout for being the highest placing non pro and WQHA member, sponsored by the Wisconsin Amateur Quarter Horse Association.
2nd place – I Know Best owned by Yvonne Weinberger and shown by Travis Born. They earned $390, a Standard Color Weighted Tail, sponsored by R&B Custom Tails, and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
3rd place – Inviting Envy, owned by Mark Holtzman and shown by Kevin Carr. They earned $258, 100 lb of Nutrena Feed, a Noble Outfitters gift bag sponsored by One Stop Equine Shop, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt and a polo shirt sponsored by VS Cracked the Code.
4th place – Flirtin With The Girls, owned and shown by Melissa Baker. They earned $171 and received a Doctors Choice Supplement, an Anew Insurance Bag, and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
5th place – Wow U With My Dance Moves, owned and shown by Valerie St. Germain. They earned $117 and a one month supply of Horse Logic Supplements donated by Horse Logic and represented by Becki Schwab-Janezick, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, and an Anew Insurance Bag.
6th place – KPH Krym Dela Krym owned and shown by Lisa Kroll. They received a Lou Lou & Bon Bon Sign, 100 lb of Nutrena Feed, and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
7th place – Leaguers Only Version, owned and shown by Don Skaife. They received a Progressive Nutrition Supplement, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, and an Anew Insurance bag.
8th place – Zips Lazy Assett, owned and shown by Lori Gregoire. They received an Equine Transport T-shirt.
The winner of the Trail slot class was Mac N Zipple, owned by Kimberly Bengston and shown by Alex Miller. They earned a payout of $592 and the Champion buckle, sponsored by Sales Paddock App.
2nd place – Pleasure Do N Biznus owned by Mary Goos and shown by Karla Friedli. They earned $370, a Noble Outfitters Gift bag sponsored by One Stop Equine Shop, 100 lb of Nutrena Feed, and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
3rd place – The Highest Placing Green Horse received a $500 bonus plus a $244 payout – This Midnight Cowboy, owned by Grace Haugstad and shown by Valerie Kearns. They received 100 lb of Nutrena Feed, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, and a polo shirt sponsored by VS Cracked the Code.
4th place – Gota Lota Frost, owned and shown by Deb Salemi. They earned $163 plus a $250 bonus payout as the highest placing non pro and WQHA member, sponsored by WAQHA. They also received a Doctors Choice Supplement, an Anew Insurance Gift bag, and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
5th place – Memphis Bound, owned by Koleene Herlocker and shown by Jess Bergantzel. They earned $111 and a one month supply of Horse Logic Supplements, donated by Horse Logic, Represented by Becki Schwab-Janezick and an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
6th place – Chex Out My Lope, owned by Kristine Kruchten and shown by Rachel Kruchten. They received a Lou Lou & Bon Bon Sign, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt, and 100 lb of Nutrena Feed and Progressive Supplement.
7th place – Dont Kiss This Machine, owned by Patrica Fox and shown by Jess Bergantzel. They received a Progressive Nutrition Supplement, an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt and a bridle bag sponsored by Initial Design.
8th place – Pass Me Good, owned and shown by Tyler Ebnet. They received an Equo Equine Transport T-shirt.
