Rose Amala wins First Gold Globe in Western Pleasure with Snippity Snap

Tuesday at the 2026 AQHYA World Championship Show, Rose Amala won her first Gold Globe on Snippity Snap, the 2017 gray mare by VS Code Red and out of Snap Krackle Pop (by RL Best Of Sudden), bred by Twylla Brown.

The team had quite a hectic day, with L3 Youth Western Horsemanship 13 & Under, earning a Bronze Championship, and L2 Trail 13&Under (they earned a Reserve World Championship), and their day finished up with L3 Western Pleasure 13&Under.

“Boo’s such a good girl!” exclaimed Rose.  “I can’t believe she kept going.”

Whether she wins or not, Boo has forever claimed the heart of Rose, who says Boo is an amazing, sweet, good girl with a huge personality.  “She has a mind of her own; if she doesn’t want to do something, she just doesn’t do it,” Rose laughs.

In this discipline, Blake has taught Rose to keep her leg on, not forgetting about her inside leg to keep Boo’s shoulder over, and to ride smart. The key to showing her at her best is to sit back and relax, keep a leg on her, and take a deep breath, which makes her relax.  “I also have to keep my seat moving. And I can manipulate my seat to make her ride how I want her to,” explains Rose.

For the opportunity to show a horse like Boo, Rose is completely grateful. “I want to thank my parents; my mom’s always there helping me, and my dad is here today. He’s always supporting me even though he still doesn’t know what a diagonal is in the Eq,” Rose laughs. “And I want to thank Blake, Stephanie, and Mirko for all the effort they put in, and obviously my horse; she’s amazing. And I would not be here and not be the person I am today without Kent Ray (Taylor).”

Rose’s pride in Boo is evident.  “I can’t believe she kept going today. She must be so tired right now.”

When the results for Western Pleasure were announced, not only were they Gold Globe winners in the Western Pleasure 13&U L3 Finals; they were Unanimous Champions!
