One of the highlights of the WCHA Breeders’ Championship Futurity over the weekend in Tunica, Mississippi, was the inaugural Equine Chronicle Ranch Horse Challenge! The first portion of the Challenge, an all age, all breed, all gender Halter class, took place on Friday, which counted for 40% of the total score. The second portion of the Challenge took place on Saturday evening with a special Ranch Riding pattern that was designed by Tim Kimura and Steve Meadows. The riding portion counted for 60% of the total score. 25 exhibitors competed in the Open division of the Challenge and 14 competed in the Non Pro division.

When the final results were tallied, the winner of a beautiful trophy saddle in the Open division was Mozaun McKibben aboard Gotta Hot Gun for Kelsey Flessner. The Reserve Champion was Chele McGauly with Boonchex and Kismet. Third place was Mozaun McKibben with Lil Ruf Catalyst.

Keeping it in the barn for the non-pro division, Kelsey Flessner won the non pro portion of the class also aboard Gotta Hot Gun. Flessner also took the second place spot aboard Autum Play. Third place was Karen Johnson with GQH Summer Camp.

The Reserve Champion was Dewey Smith with BPF Kiss and Tell for Jerry Robinson. In the 14-entry Senior Weanling Filly Futurity, Robin Robinett led Kardshian (Cheer For Mocca/Ms Dominate Tradition) to a win of $3,322.80.
